Selma School Board Member Facing Harassment Charge
From the CBS 8 West Alabama Newsroom-- A Selma City School Board member is facing a misdemeanor harassment charge.
District 3 board member Frank Chestnut, Jr. was arrested and released on bail about a week ago in an alleged case of harassment. According to police records-- Selma resident Carolyn Robinson signed a warrant against Chestnut alleging that he yelled at her-- and poked her in the forehead during a confrontation after a school board meeting. "It was more of an assault to me but according to the choice of the magistrate, they said it was just harassment," said Robinson. "I guess if he had beaten me down on the ground with his fists or something like that, they would have said assault, but it was basically assault to me, but that's what they are calling it, a misdemeanor harassment." Chestnut declined our request for an interview on the advice of his attorney. A court date in the case has been set for May 8th. Most Viewed |
