Selma School Intervention Team Leader Speaks Out

From the West Alabama Newsroom--  The man leading the state intervention team and Selma City Schools -- is no stranger to successfully running a school district. Dr. Larry DiChiara talks about his role -- and the goal of the intervention.

DiChiara and his team have been meeting with central office staff and school principals. They also plan to meet with students, parents and teachers.

DiChiara was the superintendent of Phenix City Schools for ten years and won Superintendent of the Year in 2012.

"We want the community to know that they're going to see some very positive changes," said DiChiara.

A two year timeline is in place to make corrections in Selma schools.
