From the West Alabama Newsroom--  Selma City School officials unveil part of the corrective action plan they plan to submit in response to a state investigation that found evidence of academic and sexual misconduct in the school district .

School officials say the district is implementing a researched based program designed to address the issue of sexual misconduct in schools.

The program was introduced at a Statewide Parenting Day event at Selma High School Wednesday morning.

"Today is all about just educating the parents to let them know that we are trying to provide a safe and secure environment here in Selma City Schools," said event coordinator and Selma City School administrator Zanetta Ervin.

Meanwhile, a group picketing in front of the school district central office says the protest will continue until the corrective action plan is submitted by the district and accepted by the state.
