By George McDonald

From the CBS 8 West Alabama Newsroom-- Final preparations are underway for the 2nd Annual ArtsRevive StreetFest in downtown Selma.

StreetFest is a celebration of all things Alabama.

It features Alabama artists-- musicians-- and Alabama food.

The two-day event is free and features children's activities-- and live musical performances by
Three-on-a-String-- the Concordia College Jazz Band-- and the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra.

Artists say the StreetFest is a great way to showcase and promote their work.

"You can't just sit at home and people are going to find you, you got to get out. You got to beat the streets, you got to any chance you get to get out, and even if I set up and I don't sell anything, I still have met people, I've talked to people and I'm making people aware of my work," said Selma artist Vicky Stoudenmire.

Streetfest runs Friday from 11 am to 8 pm and from 9 am to 2 pm on Saturday.

The annual Billy Atchison Memorial Fish Fry is held in conjunction with the event.
