Summer Activities Available for Kids in Selma and Dallas Co.
By George McDonald

From the West Alabama Newsroom--  School is out for summer and people in Dallas County are looking for activities to help kids have a safe -- fun -- and productive summer.

Activities for children are available all summer long at the Selma-Dallas County Public Library.

Summer programs that feature basketball -- tennis -- and T-ball are also available this summer -- through the city's parks and recreation department. Executive director Elton Reece says its important for kids out of the house this summer -- and participate.

"Our goal is getting our kids outside involved in some outside activity, said Reece. "That's what the summer is supposed to be all about -- school is out for them to get outside and play."

"The more we can get them involved in construction activities I just think the better off they'll be," said Dallas County parent Pandora Wilkerson.
