Following last week's elections, foul play is suspected in Uniontown's mayor race, and now federal officials may be investigating the votes.

This comes after an extremely high turnout in the town's municipal election. Many questions were raised about the influx of voters so Agriculture Commissioner John McMillan is requesting an investigation.

The 2010 Census shows Uniontown had 1,140 residents 18 years or older. During Tuesday's vote, a total of 1,431 people cast ballots in the mayor's race.

There were also 570 absentee ballots cast, which is well over the 5-percent average for absentee ballots in the state.
