Wilcox Central Learns Punishment After Football Brawl
By CBS 8 News

The Alabama High School Athletic Association comes down hard on the Wilcox Central football team, for its involvement in a brawl during a game last week.

One player has been suspended for the remainder of the season.  Five players got suspensions of up to five games.

The school has to pay up to $5,800 dollars in fines -- and the team has been placed on a year of probation.

Sixteen Wilcox Central players were ejected after a fight broke out in a game against Linden High School. The game had to be called in the third quarter.

Linden had four players suspended for two games, has to pay at least $14,00 dollars in fines, and serve a year probation.
