From the CBS 8 West Alabama Newsroom--  Some Wilcox County employees are speaking out after the county commission votes to create a brand-new high-paying job in the county-then immediately fills the position.

About a dozen county employees gathered at the Old Courthouse building in Camden in protest of the commission action.

The employees say they're upset about how quickly the new position was pushed through - and because they haven't been given a raise in seven years.

The new position was for a license commissioner-and the pay for the job is budgeted at more than 40-thousand dollars.

Wilcox County has about 102 employees.
