New Auburn defensive coordinator Brian VanGorder is being paid $850,000 a year and offensive coordinator Scot Loeffler is making $500,000.

Auburn released the contracts for its two first-year coordinators and new secondary coach Willie Martinez on Thursday.

VanGorder and Loeffler have deals running through June 2014 which include unspecified potential performance bonuses and car allowances. They'll each get $25,000 per completed season.

VanGorder's deal matches what Alabama pays defensive coordinator Kirby Smart.

Martinez will make $255,000 a year through June 2013.

Former offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn was making $1.3 million before taking over the Arkansas State program. Defensive coordinator Ted Roof, who left for Central Florida and is now at Penn State, was making $500,000.

Both had three-year deals.
