AUBURN – The Auburn Tigers concluded their preparations for Saturday’s A-Day game with a two-hour practice amidst steady rain showers Friday morning at the Auburn Athletics Complex practice. It was Auburn’s 12th practice of the spring.

“We’ve gotten a little more consistent as an offense; I’m excited to see how we’ll respond tomorrow,” offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee said about his unit. “We’re making a lot of progress. Hopefully, this Saturday we can see another jump. We’ve got to process information fast.

“Both quarterbacks will get plenty of reps with both teams tomorrow. I know all of our kids want to put their best foot forward.”

“Saturday’s going to have an impact on our evaluation on who our two-deep will be,” said defensive coordinator Ellis Johnson of the plan for A-Day. “We want it to be game-like in the field position movement, the rotation, the substitution and those type things. At the end of the day, each coach selfishly is hoping each player gets between 15-20 reps. We’ll have to juggle that, but we want to get them into a game atmosphere and see how the players handle it. We think our fan base deserves an entertaining scrimmage and we want it to be competitive.”

A-Day is Saturday, with kickoff at Jordan-Hare Stadium scheduled for 1 p.m. CT. View complete information for all the events surrounding A-Day at AuburnTigers.com/aday.

The Tigers will hold two more team workouts next week to conclude the spring practice period.
