St. James Tight End Jalen Harris has committed to the Auburn Tigers, picking Auburn over Alabama and LSU, among others.

The 6'5, 240 pounder is ranked as the top tight end in the state by several recruiting services.

Harris is the 17th committment to Auburn's 2015 class. He says comfortability with the coaching staff and the potential for early playing time were the biggest factors in his decision.

He will follow in the footsteps of current St. James coach Philip Lutzenkirchen, who played tight end at Auburn from 2009-2012.

Harris became the second committment of the day for Auburn after 4-star offensive lineman Tyler Carr picked Auburn earlier in the day.
