Sports Analyst John Longshore was on Alabama News Network at 6:00 to preview the first SEC games for Alabama and Auburn.

Alabama faces Texas A&M on Saturday, a showdown with the only team to beat the Crimson Tide in 2012. Longshore expects it to be a great game, featuring the National Champions versus a Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback. But Alabama has only played one game so far this season. Longshore thinks coach Nick Saban would've preferred having Alabama play another game instead of having a bye week before this critical game.

Auburn hosts Mississippi State. Longshore likes the Tigers chances playing at home and having a quarterback like Nick Marshall. He thinks this could be a breakout game for Auburn, which lost all of its SEC games in its dismal 2012 season.
