WASHINGTON (AP) — Aquanius Freeman carried 13 times for 212 yards and two touchdowns as Howard routed winless Savannah State 56-9 yesterday. Freeman amassed the highest rushing total for the Bison since Antoine Rutherford's 230 against Norfolk State in 2003.
ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) — Kimari McFadden picked off a pair of passes — returning one 34 yards for a touchdown — as South Carolina State topped Norfolk State 14-0 in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference action yesterday. McFadden's score was the Bulldogs' second touchdown of the first quarter, and proved all the scoring the team needed.
DOVER, Del. (AP) — Joey Logano dominated on the concrete to win the Nationwide Series race at Dover International Speedway. Logano raced to his series-leading victory of the season yesterday, winning for the 16th time in NASCAR's second-tier circuit. Paul Menard was second, followed by Michael Annett, points leader Elliott Sadler and Kyle Busch.
