AC Milan beats Zenit 3-2 in Champions League
ST. PETERSBURG, Russia (AP) — AC Milan won a Champions League road game for the first time in two years, beating Zenit St. Petersburg 3-2 Wednesday night on Tomas Hubocan's own goal in the 75th minute.
The seven-time European champions built a 2-0 lead in the first half. Urby Emanuelson scored on a 12th-minute free kick that ricocheted off Roman Shirokov and past goalkeeper Vyacheslav Malafeyev. Stephan El Shaarawy doubled the lead three minutes later.
Hulk scored in the second minute of injury time, and Roman Shirokov tied it four minutes into the second half with a header off a corner kick.
Milan improved to 1-0-1 in Group C, ending a six-game Champions League road winless streak since its victory at Auxerre in November 2010. Zenit (0-2) had been unbeaten in 16 straight European home games.
