Tyson claims NZ revoking visa not 'fair fight'LONDON (AP) — Three days after being banned from New Zealand, Mike Tyson has hit back at the decision to revoke his visa because of a rape conviction. The former heavyweight boxing champion had planned to travel to Auckland in November. During a visit to London, Tyson maintained on Saturday that "the people wanted me to come. If it was a fair organization, a fair fight I would be there but I got vetoed by the higher power." Tyson served three years in prison after the 1991 rape of an 18-year-old woman at hotel in Indianapolis. Tyson says being denied access to New Zealand is "one of those things in life that happens — it's life on life's terms and everyone has to deal with that and those uncertainties." |
