LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — A Lexington lawyer has entered not guilty pleas for three University of Kentucky football players charged with possession of marijuana.

Lexington attorney Jim Lowry appeared Tuesday in Fayette County District Court for running back Raymond Sanders of Stone Mountain, Ga.; cornerback Marcus Caffey of Atlanta; and wide receiver Bookie Cobbins of New Orleans, but the players were not present. Their next court date is Jan. 16.

The three were charged Sept. 13. The Lexington Herald-Leader (http://bit.ly/QR4NjF ) reports a police officer noticed the smell of marijuana and found the drug inside an address listed on the citations.
