Ole Miss riding high after late win vs. ArkansasLITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — First-year coach Hugh Freeze has Mississippi one win away from bowl eligibility after Saturday's 30-27 win over Arkansas. The Rebels (5-3, 2-2 Southeastern Conference) won on Bryson Rose's 31-yard field goal as time expired, giving them their first back-to-back SEC wins since the 2009 season. That's also the last time Ole Miss, which was 1-15 in the conference the last two seasons under Houston Nutt, reached a bowl game. The Rebels need one win in their final four games against Georgia, Vanderbilt, LSU and rival Mississippi State to become bowl eligible. The Razorbacks (3-5, 2-3) now need wins in three of their final four games to reach a bowl for the fourth straight season. Saturday's loss secured Arkansas' first winless season in Little Rock since 1993. |
