ATHENS, Ga. (AP) — Anne Marie Armstrong scored 14 points and Erika Ford added 10 to lead No. 10 Georgia to a 62-46 win over South Carolina State last night. Georgia (3-0) forced 29 turnovers by South Carolina State (1-1) and won the rebounding battle 51-33.

STATESBORO, Ga. (AP) — Eric Ferguson scored 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead a strong Georgia Southern shooting effort in an 87-64 victory over Webber International last night. The Eagles (1-2) shot 61.1 percent (33 of 54) against the Warriors of the NAIA, who counted the game as an exhibition.

ATLANTA (AP) — Bond was set at $100,000 for ex-WNBA star and Olympic gold medalist Chamique Holdsclaw. She appeared in court yesterday, hours after surrendering to face charges stemming from a confrontation that ended in gunfire earlier this week. Police say Holdsclaw fired a shot after using a bat to break the windows of a car belonging to Jennifer Lacy.

RICHMOND, Ky. (AP) — Eastern Kentucky pulled away for an 85-71 nonconference victory over Kennesaw State last night. Glenn Cosey scored 14 of his 21 points in the second half. The Colonels took advantage of 18 Kennesaw State turnovers while committing just 10 of their own.
