LOS ANGELES (AP) — Top-ranked and unbeaten Notre Dame can clinch a spot in the BCS title game with a victory over 7-4 Southern California tonight. The Trojans are without All-American quarterback Matt Barkley, who's out with a shoulder injury, and redshirt freshman Max Wittek is making his first college start at quarterback.
HOUSTON (AP) — James Harden scored 33 points, and Chandler Parsons had a career-high 31 to help the Houston Rockets coast to a 131-103 victory over the New York Knick. Ex-Knick Jeremy Lin added 13 points, seven rebounds and three assists for Houston in the first game against his former team.
BOSTON (AP) — Paul Pierce scored 22 of his 27 points in the second half and the Boston Celtics snapped a two-game losing streak by beating the Oklahoma City Thunder 108-100. Kevin Garnett had 18 points and nine rebounds for the Celtics, and Kevin Durant led all scorers with 29 for OKC.
NEW YORK (AP) — Tim Hardaway Jr. scored 23 points before he left late in the game after he was kneed in the head, and No. 4 Michigan beat Kansas State 71-57 to win the NIT Season Tipoff. Michigan is 5-0 after winning the tournament, previously known as the Preseason NIT, for the first time.
