Cardinals agree to terms with LHP Choate

ST. LOUIS (AP) — The St. Louis Cardinals and veteran reliever Randy Choate have agreed to terms on a three-year deal through the 2015 season.

The 37-year-old lefty led the majors with 80 appearances in 2012 between the Miami Marlins and Los Angeles Dodgers. Choate owns a career record of 11-11 with a 4.02 ERA and six saves in 476 games dating to 2000.

Financial terms were not released by the team, which announced the agreement Friday.
