Seahawks' record day...MRI on RGIII show no serious damage
SEATTLE (AP) — The Seattle Seahawks posted their most lopsided shutout in team history by blanking Arizona 58-0, setting a team record for points. Marshawn Lynch scored three touchdowns and the Seahawks defense forced eight turnovers.
CINCINNATI (AP) — The Dallas Cowboys, still grieving the day after learning a teammate had died and another had been charged with intoxication manslaughter, rallied from nine points down in the final minutes to score a 20-19 victory at Cincinnati. Dan Bailey's 40-yard field goal at the final gun won it.
LANDOVER, Md. (AP) — Rookie sensation Robert Griffin III's MRI last night on a sprained right knee showed no serious ligament damage after the injury forced him from the game in the final minute of regulation in the Washington Redskins' 31-28 win over the Baltimore Ravens. Griffin also had an X-ray at the stadium, and doctors poking at his knee told him that his ligaments "felt good."
LOS ANGELES (AP) — A person familiar with the negotiations tells The Associated Press that the Los Angeles Dodgers have signed South Korean pitcher Ryu Hyun-jin to a $36 million, six-year deal. Ryu is expected to join a loaded rotation next season that most likely will include free-agent right-hander Zack Greinke (GREHN'-kee).
NEW YORK (AP) — The NHL and the locked-out players' association are talking again, and a return to the bargaining table could happen soon. Formal talks broke down last Thursday night after three straight days of talks in an attempt to end the four-month lockout and save the hockey season.
