SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) — Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly says the top-ranked Fighting Irish will have an early curfew every night they are in Miami preparing to play second-ranked Alabama for the national title. Usually the curfew is 2 a.m. for a bowl game, but this year he says it's 11 p.m. He told his players to treat it like a business trip.
CHICAGO (AP) — Tracy Abrams scored a career-high 27 points and 12th-ranked Illinois beat Auburn 81-79. The Illini (13-1) saw an 11-point lead shrink to one in the closing minutes but they prevailed after falling to Missouri a week earlier.
JACKSONVILLE, Ala. (AP) — Brian Williams paced four Jacksonville State players in double figures with 18 points as the Gamecocks rolled over Tennessee Tech 83-62. Williams was 7 of 10 from the field, including 3 of 4 from 3-point range as Jacksonville State (9-3, 1-0) shot 43.8 percent (7 of 16) from beyond the arc.
