NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Kedren Johnson scored 15 points to lead Vanderbilt over Auburn 73-61 Wednesday night. Four players scored in double figures to help the Commodores win consecutive games for the first time in more than a month. Rob Chubb and Frankie Sullivan each scored 14 points and Brian Greene Jr. added 11 for the Tigers, who have dropped three straight.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — Ty Armstrong scored 18 points to lead six East Carolina players in double figures in a 91-85 victory over Alabama-Birmingham in a Conference USA game Wednesday night. Armstrong also had 10 rebounds for the Pirates, who had lost their last five road games.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Josh Smith had 30 points and 13 rebounds, and the Atlanta Hawks snapped a six-game road losing streak with a 104-92 win Wednesday night over the Charlotte Bobcats. Kyle Korver added 21 points as the Hawks sent the Bobcats to their 16th straight home loss.

ATLANTA (AP) — Brian McCann would like to be behind the plate on opening day and beat the projections which have him missing the start of the season. Even so, the Braves catcher realizes he must be cautious in his return from major surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder.
