PARIS (AP) — Former Olympic swimming champion Laure Manaudou says she is quitting for good after announcing her retirement for the second time.

Manaudou won France's first swimming gold in 52 years at the 2004 Athens Olympics. She retired in September 2009 after her poor showing at the 2008 Beijing Games.

The 26-year-old said Wednesday that "I'm stopping. I swear I'm stopping this time for good and that I won't come back." She also reveals she is pregnant again. She has a 2-year-old daughter.

Manaudou won gold in the 400-meter freestyle in Athens but finished last in the final of the same event four years later and seventh in the 100 freestyle. She was eliminated in the heats of the 200 backstroke.

The three-time world champion returned and qualified for the London Games but didn't advance from heats in any of her events.
