Like Bolt, Merritt eager to become household name

U.S. hurdler Aries Merritt believes he can break his own world record, topping the mark he shattered a month after the London Games.

Maybe then more fans will know his name.

Everyone knows Usain Bolt, the fastest man on the planet. The quickest hurdler? Not so much.

Like Bolt, Merritt wants to make his name known around the world. He says he hopes to reach "legend" status one day, same as Bolt.

Merritt is certainly on the right path after a season in which he captured gold in London and then later broke the world record in the hurdles with his time of 12.80 seconds.

So, just how does he top last season? Merritt says with a laugh: "No idea."

Going even faster over the hurdles is a good start.
