Giants put Chad Gaudin on big league roster

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) — The San Francisco Giants have selected the contract of right-hander Chad Gaudin from the Triple-A Fresno Grizzlies.

Gaudin, who turned 30 on Sunday, is 2-0 with a 2.81 ERA in nine spring training games, including two starts.

He was 4-2 with a 4.54 ERA in 46 games with Miami in 2013 and was signed by the Giants to a minor league contract on Dec. 13. He gets a contract that pays him $750,000 in the majors and $120,000 in the minors and can earn $250,000 in performance bonuses in the big leagues: $50,000 each for 35, 40, 45, 50 and 55 games.
