That includes his own former coach Bear Bryant. Battle calls 'Bama's current run under Nick Saban of three national titles in four seasons unprecedented. Bryant led the Tide to six national titles.

AUBURN, Ala. (AP) — Auburn has signed junior college point guard Malcolm Canada. Coach Tony Barbee announced the signing on Wednesday, filling a slot vacated when Rutgers transfer Jerome Seagears changed his mind about playing for the Tigers. Auburn has signed eight players after three 2012 signees left the team, which went 9-23 last season.

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) — Southern Mississippi is looking for a new athletic director. University President Rodney Bennett announced Wednesday that the one-year contract for Jeff Hammond will not be renewed after it expires on June 30.

CORNELIUS, N.C. (AP) — Sprint Cup drivers Kasey Kahne, Brad Keselowski and Greg Biffle were among more than 800 people who attended the funeral service for NASCAR driver Jason Leffler on Wednesday in Cornelius, N.C. Leffler was killed a week ago when his sprint car crashed into a wall at Bridgeport Speedway in New Jersey.
