CHICAGO (AP) — Alex Rios hit a grand slam and drove in five runs, and Jake Peavy pitched six solid innings in his return from the disabled list to lead the Chicago White Sox to a 10-6 victory over the Atlanta Braves on Saturday. Rios, who had been in a 2-for-20 slump, went 3-for-5 to help Chicago win for just the 10th time in 32 games.

CHICAGO (AP) — Atlanta Braves starter Paul Maholm was forced out in the fourth inning of his start against the Chicago White Sox because of sprained left wrist. Maholm's final pitch on Saturday was a foul ball hit by Alejandro De Aza down the left field line. After the pitch, Maholm asked for another baseball, but was awkwardly holding his pitching hand.

ATLANTA (AP) — Raul Jimenez scored in the 84th minute to lead Mexico to a 1-0 victory over Trinidad and Tobago in the quarterfinals of the Gold Cup on Saturday night in Atlanta. Mexico, a six-time Gold Cup champion going for its third straight title, will face Panama in the semifinals on Wednesday in Dallas.

ATLANTA (AP) — Coach Julio Dely Valdes was upset when Panama's sudden lapse in concentration led to an early goal for Cuba. Panama didn't need long, though, to regain its aggressive identity and make Valdes smile. Gabriel Torres scored two goals in the first half to help Panama beat 10-man Cuba 6-1 in the quarterfinals of the Gold Cup on Saturday.
