TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) — Alabama coach Nick Saban says defensive lineman Dalvin Tomlinson will have knee surgery. Saban said Thursday that Tomlinson was injured in Wednesday's practice. AUBURN, Ala. (AP) — Auburn tailback Corey Grant finally has cultivated a role in a career that began with rival Alabama. Grant ran for 146 yards and displayed the speed that made him a two-time state 100-meter champion in the opener against Washington State. Now, he's trying for a solid encore Saturday night against Arkansas State.

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. (AP) — Roddy White isn't promising he'll be 100 percent for the Falcons' opener at the Saints on Sunday. White is guaranteeing he'll be on the field. The streak of 128 consecutive games played appeared to be at risk when White sprained his ankle in Atlanta's preseason game at Baltimore.

FLORENCE, Ala. (AP) — Valdosta State quarterback Dusty Bonner, Jacksonville State tight end Keith McKeller and retired Indiana University of Pennsylvania coach Frank Cignetti have been selected for the Division II Football Hall of Fame. The class was announced on Thursday.
