Nevada (1-1) at No. 10 Florida State (1-0), 3:30 p.m. (ESPN)

Line: Florida State by 33½.

Series record: First meeting.

WHAT'S AT STAKE

All the praise Florida State and quarterback Jameis Winston have gotten since the Seminoles trounced Pitt 41-13 in the season opener. Winston completed 25 of 27 passes for 356 yards and four touchdowns on the road — the most productive start by a freshman QB in school history.

KEY MATCHUP

Nevada QB Cody Fajardo vs. Florida State LB Christian Jones. While running Nevada's pistol offense, the dual-threat Fajardo has accounted for more than 60 percent of his team's offense in 2013. Jones was FSU's top tackler last season and could be used to spy Fajardo all over the field.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Nevada: TE Brandon Wimberley has caught a pass in 42 consecutive games, the longest streak in the nation. It started on Sept. 5, 2009, with a 19-yarder from Colin Kaepernick. He led the Wolf Pack with 70 catches and 845 yards last season.

Florida State: Winston set a school record by completing 92.6 percent of his passes against Pitt, topping Danny Kanell's mark set in 1995. Winston was chosen the ACC rookie of the week, the Davey O'Brien QB of the week and the Manning Award star of the week.

FACTS & FIGURES

This will be Nevada's first game in the Sunshine State. ... The Wolf Pack have five wins against teams from the Bowl Championship Series' power conferences, including a win at Cal to begin 2012. ... Fajardo needs 43 yards rushing to reach 2,000 for his career. He would join Kaepernick as the only QBs in school history to accomplish the feat. Fajardo needs 104 yards passing to top 5,000 for his career. ... The Seminoles are 33-2 in their last 35 home openers. ... FSU is 17-4 at home under coach Jimbo Fisher... FSU's defense has held opponents to 20 points or less in 23 of its last 29 games.

___

Akron (1-1) at No. 11 Michigan (2-0), 12:01 p.m. (BTN)

Line: Michigan by 37

Series record: First meeting.

WHAT'S AT STAKE

Michigan seems to be set up for a 5-0 start with a relatively easy schedule before playing Oct. 12 at Penn State. The Zips and coach Terry Bowden, broke a 10-game losing streak last week. They haven't one more than one game in a season in four years. This would qualify as the biggest win in school history.

KEY MATCHUP

Michigan's high-powered offense against Akron's shaky defense. The Wolverines scored a school-record 59 points in an opener, then put up 41 points against Notre Dame. The Zips started the year by getting routed 38-7 at Central Florida and barely held on to beat second-tier James Madison after allowing 33 points and more than 300 yards passing for a second straight week.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Michigan: RB Derrick Green. The freshman has become Fitzgerald Toussaint's top backup, and he likely will get a shot to have more than the 11 carries for 58 yards he had in the opener against Central Michigan.

Akron: QB Nick Hirschman. The Colorado transfer, who has backed up Kyle Pohl, was 8 of 14 for 162 yards and three touchdowns and ran for a score in last week's comeback win against James Madison.

FACTS & FIGURES

The Wolverines have won 16 straight games at home, the longest active streak among BCS conference schools. ... Akron, which joined the top level of college football in 1987, is winless against teams ranked in The Associated Press college football poll. ... The Zips have lost by double digits to ranked teams in 13 straight matchups — losing those games by an average of 31 points — since a 21-18 setback to No. 15 Virginia Tech in 1996. ... Michigan's Brendan Gibbons has connected on 16 straight field goals, the longest streak in program history.

___

Lamar (1-1) vs. No. 12 Oklahoma State (2-0), 7:30 p.m. (Fox Sports Southwest)

Line: Oklahoma State by 46.

Series record: first meeting.

WHAT'S AT STAKE

After convincing road victories against Mississippi State and Texas-San Antonio, Oklahoma State finally plays at home, looking to avoid a letdown against an FCS opponent. Lamar, from the Southland Conference, is coming off a competitive 27-14 loss at Louisiana Tech last week and is looking to pull off what would be a monumental upset.

KEY MATCHUP

Oklahoma State's dynamic offense, led by sophomore QB J.W. Walsh, the reigning Big 12 offensive player of the week after completing 24 of 27 passes for 326 yards and four touchdowns last week, up against Lamar's defense, which recorded two sacks and forced seven Louisiana Tech punts.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Lamar: QB Caleb Berry threw for 272 yards and a touchdown, but was sacked five times last week at La Tech. His offensive line will have a tough time doing better than that against the potent OSU pass-rushers, who recorded five in their two contests.

Oklahoma State: RB Jeremy Smith, who has scored a rushing touchdown in 11 straight games, will be looking to bounce back from last week, when he gained 34 yards on 12 carries. Along with Walsh, who ran for 125 yards and a TD against Mississippi State Aug. 31, the Cowboys have a strong ground attack.

FACTS & FIGURES

Oklahoma State has won 17 consecutive home openers and has not lost to an FCS school since 1948. . The Cowboys are also 13-1 in their last 14 non-conference games, since the start of the 2010 season. . Lamar's football program is in just its fourth season after ceasing operations in 1989. . OSU's defense has four interceptions in its two games.

___

Vanderbilt (1-1, 0-1 SEC) at No. 13 South Carolina (1-1, 0-1), 7 p.m. (ESPN)

Line: South Carolina by 13½.

Series record: South Carolina leads 18-4.

WHAT'S AT STAKE

Staying alive in the Southeastern Conference East race since the loser will have two league losses three weeks into the season. The Gamecocks defense gave up their most points in two seasons and their most yards in three, surrendering 536 yards in a 41-30 loss to Georgia. South Carolina's won four straight in the series, including a 21-3 victory here two years ago when the Commodores were held to 77 yards of total offense — only four of those on the ground.

KEY MATCHUP:

Vanderbilt WR Jordan Matthews vs. South Carolina's pass defense: Matthews has passed the 100-yard mark in receiving in the Commodores first two games, including a 178-yard, 10-catch, 1-TD showing in the opening week loss to Ole Miss. The Gamecocks gave up four touchdown passes, including a critical 85-yarder by Justin Scott-Wesley in the fourth quarter last week.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Vanderbilt: QB Austyn Carta-Samuels is a fifth-year senior and Wyoming transfer in his first season starting for Vandy. He has thrown for 528 yards and three TDs.

South Carolina: DE Jadeveon Clowney has not had the impact the college football world thought he might in his final season, although his stat line of six tackles and a sack is exactly the same as it was through two games in 2012.

FACTS & FIGURES

South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier is 18-2 overall against Vanderbilt, the two defeats coming in 2007 and 2008. ... Vanderbilt coach James Franklin's 15 victories in his first two seasons are the most since Dan McGuin won 16 in 1904 and 1905. ... South Carolina has won 12 straight at home, the third longest active string in the country behind Michigan (16) and Georgia (13).

___

Tulsa (1-1) at No. 14 Oklahoma (2-0), 11 a.m. (ESPN2)

Line: Oklahoma by 24½

Series record: Oklahoma leads 17-7-1

WHAT'S AT STAKE

Oklahoma wants to maintain momentum heading into a difficult three-game stretch following Saturday's game, with contests at Notre Dame, at home against TCU and in Dallas against Texas. Tulsa, often an afterthought in a state with two Big 12 Conference teams, wants to strike a blow for the little guy. A win by the Golden Hurricane would help ease the sting of an embarrassing lopsided loss to Bowling Green in the opener and could cement their status as perhaps the team to beat in Conference USA.

KEY MATCHUP

Oklahoma's offense has relied heavily on the run in wins over Louisiana-Monroe (34-0) and West Virginia (16-7), rushing for more than 300 yards in back-to-back games for the first time since doing so against Texas and Baylor in October 1997 - when John Blake was coaching the Sooners. The Sooners will debut a new starting quarterback in Blake Bell, who is known as a power runner. Will Tulsa's defense, which held Colorado State to minus-3 yards in the fourth quarter of a 30-27 win, be up to the task of stopping the Sooners' powerful ground game?

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Tulsa: LB Shawn Jackson, who is on the verge of breaking two school career records. Jackson needs 1½ tackles for loss to tie the school mark in that category and two sacks to match the school record of 20 (a mark now co-held by former NFL lineman Dennis Byrd). Last season, despite missing three games due to suspension, he led a defense that recorded 53 sacks, second-best in the Football Bowl Subdivision.

Oklahoma: QB Blake Bell, who will be making his first career start. Bell saw plenty of action the past two seasons in Oklahoma's "Belldozer" power-running package but lost a preseason competition to Trevor Knight for the starting job. Knight is out with a bruised knee, opening the door for Bell to state his case as a starter.

FACTS AND FIGURES

Tulsa hasn't won in Norman since 1996 and is 3-11-1 in the series when playing at Oklahoma. . The Golden Hurricane haven't beaten a top-20 team since Sept. 21, 1996, a 27-20 win over then-No. 19 Iowa, and it's been since 1991 that Tulsa beat a top-15 team (35-34 over then-No. 15 Texas A&M). . Tulsa senior running back Trey Watts is the son of former Oklahoma quarterback (and former U.S. Rep.) J.C. Watts . Oklahoma freshman linebacker Dominique Alexander's older brother is Tulsa junior defensive end Derrick Alexander. . No other FBS team has faced two other FBS opponents this season and allowed fewer total points than Oklahoma, which has given up seven points.

___

No. 16 UCLA (1-0) at No. 23 Nebraska (2-0), Noon (ABC)

Line: Nebraska by 4 ½.

Series record: Nebraska 6-5.

WHAT'S AT STAKE

Last year's 36-30 win was a breakthrough for UCLA and set the stage for its run to the Pac-12 South title in coach Jim Mora's first season. The Bruins, favored to win the South again, can get a good measure of themselves playing in a tough environment. The Cornhuskers left the Rose Bowl embarrassed after UCLA rolled up 653 yards against them. Try as he might to downplay the revenge factor, you know coach Bo Pelini wants this one badly.

KEY MATCHUP

Nebraska defense vs. UCLA offense. Plenty of questions remain about the Huskers' young defense even though a sharp outing against struggling Southern Mississippi eased some of the anxiety that resulted from giving up 602 yards to Wyoming. No one has forgotten the meltdown against UCLA last year. This is a huge opportunity for the Blackshirts against a high-powered opponent.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

UCLA: QB Brett Hundley had one of the greatest seasons for a UCLA quarterback in 2012, and his coming out party was against Nebraska. He threw for 274 yards and two TDs and ran for two scores in an easy win over Nevada in the opener.

Nebraska: DE Randy Gregory looks to be on the verge of breaking out after recording four quarterback hurries and a tackle for loss against Southern Miss. The Huskers need Gregory to harass Hundley and flash the form that made him one of the most sought-after junior-college recruits.

FACTS & FIGURES

The Bruins will wear No. 36 patches on their jerseys and Nebraska players will have No. 36 decals on their helmets in honor of Nick Pasquale, the UCLA walk-on receiver who died after being struck by a vehicle Sunday. There also will be a moment of silence before the game ... The Huskers will wear black jerseys instead of their traditional home red tops ... Nebraska has won four straight meetings with UCLA in Lincoln ... UCLA played 15 freshmen and eight redshirt freshmen against Nevada ... Hundley has thrown 106 consecutive passes without an interceptions ... Nebraska has won 14 straight nonconference home games and is 17-1 in those games in Pelini's six seasons.
