Bellamy Brew wins $81,000 Belmont feature

NEW YORK (AP) — Bellamy Brew won for the fifth win in seven starts Thursday by capturing the $81,000 allowance feature at Belmont Park.

Ridden by Junior Alvarado, the 2-1 favorite set the pace and beat Praetereo by 3 ¼ lengths. This was the season debut for the 5-year-old trained by Bill Mott for the Steinbrenner family's Kinsman Stud.

The time was 1:34.53 for the mile.

Bellamy Road paid $6.60, $4.40 and $3. Praetereo returned $3.70 and $2.40 while Troilus paid $4.50 to show.
