OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — Oakland Raiders strong safety Tyvon Branch left in the first quarter with a leg injury.

Branch got hurt rushing Jacksonville quarterback Chad Henne. He was attended to by trainers on the field before being helped off and brought straight to the locker room. The team announced Branch will not return to the game.

Branch is one of only two returning starters from last year on Oakland's defense. He has missed just two games in the past five seasons.

Brandian Ross replaced Branch in the game.
