Auburn Seeking Productive Wideouts for Miss. State Game
The Auburn Tigers are still seeking out game-ready wide receivers. Only Emory Blake and tight end Philip Lutzenkirchen produced in the opening loss to Clemson. It's a carryover issue from last season. Auburn (0-1) will almost certainly need some help from other receivers in the passing game Saturday at Mississippi State (1-0), led by cornerback Johnthan Banks and a veteran secondary. Quarterback Kiehl Frazier completed four passes apiece to Blake and Lutzenkirchen in his starting debut. Tailback Onterio McCalebb added two short completions and Quan Bray caught an 8-yarder. Auburn coach Gene Chizik says the Tigers have "got to develop a trust that other receivers are capable of making plays." He says they have confidence in other receivers but the youngsters must show they can produce in games. (Copyright 2012 The Associated Press. All rights reserved.
