Stefanie Hicks joined CBS 8 in July 2004 and co-anchors the 5, 6 and 10 p.m. newscasts as well as The CW News at 9:00. Also, twice a month she features "What's Right with Our Schools," which highlights the positive things happening in area classrooms.
Stefanie is a native of Enterprise, Alabama. She is a graduate of Troy University, and began her television career at WTVY-TV in Dothan, Alabama, as a reporter. Later, she took over as the anchor of the morning newscast, WTVY This Morning.
Stefanie is an annual speaker at the Hugh O'Brian Youth leadership seminar. She is also involved in the Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy Association Telethon every Labor Day, and is a former co-host of the Children's Miracle Network Telethon. She is proud to be involved in the Mentoring Matters program at Seth Johnson Elementary School.
When Stefanie is not working, she enjoys watching movies, reading, scrapbooking, and anything to do with the water! She also enjoys playing with her "children", a terrier mix, Rupert, and a border collie mix, Mac. Both were adopted from local animal shelters, and are now spoiled rotten! Stefanie is married to Jeff Sanders, the anchor of CBS 8 News at Noon and 5:00 p.m.
