Jeff Sanders

Jeff Sanders is a native of Florida who now calls Alabama home. He co-anchors CBS 8 News at Noon and 5:00 along with covering stories important to CBS 8 viewers. He joined CBS 8 in January 2005.
As a child, Jeff had the opportunity to travel extensively around the country, from the plains of Kansas to the beaches of Hawaii. Jeff attended Troy University where he majored in Broadcast Journalism and History.
While still in school, he was hired by WTVY in Dothan, Alabama, as the weekend weather anchor. Jeff then took over morning weather duties, and evenutually became the 5, 6, and 10 p.m. weather anchor. During his time in Dothan, Jeff won several awards, inluding an Alabama Associated Press Award for Best Weather Anchor.
Despite his love of weather, Jeff decided to move in another direction and return to his first love -- news! That's what brings Jeff to CBS 8. In his spare time, Jeff enjoys watching movies, camping, hiking, and all kinds of trivia games. He looks forward to meeting the people of Central, West and South Alabama.
Jeff is married to CBS 8 anchor Stefanie Hicks.
