Truman Capote’s “Holiday Memories” at Cloverdale Playhouse
Set in the 1930’s, Truman Capote takes a look back at his life as a child growing up in Monroeville, Alabama.
“Holiday Memories” gives the audience a glimpse of fond memories of a simpler time in the rural south.
“It’s is a very wonderful Christmas/ Thanksgiving story about family, about relationships, about how you love and care for each other. How you develop friendships. How community was really formed back then,” said Feona Mcleod, who plays “Sook.”
The actors say they enjoy telling Capote’s stories.
“It’s very fun to do it here. It’s fun to do it in different places too,” said 13 year old MAx Zink, who plays “Buddy,” a young Truman.
But they say it’s also a challenge.
“It is a daunting task. Capote’s prose is difficult to say the least, but beautiful,” said Cushing Phillips, who plays “Truman”.
 “Holiday Memories” runs December 5- 8th and the 12-15th.
    Thursday, Friday, and Saturdays at 7:30 and Sundays at 2 in the afternoon.
    General admission is 18 dollars and 10 dollars for Students.
