Man Charged in Montgomery’s 44th Homicide of the Year

A Montgomery man is under arrest in connection with Montgomery’s forty-fourth homicide of the year.

Elijah Frazier is charged with murdering Keon Sankey.

According to police, the shooting happened near Burgwyn Road and Kippax Street during the course of a robbery on Wednesday. They say the victim, Sankey, was trying to drive himself to a hospital with gunshot wounds when he crashed into another vehicle around 4:30 that afternoon.

Sankey was pronounced dead at a hospital on Thursday. The driver of the other vehicle received minor injuries.

Police say Frazier is a suspect in the burglary. He turned himself in to Montgomery Police Friday. He is being held in the Montgomery County Detention Facility without bond.
