Plane Makes Emergency Landing In Georgiana

A plane was forced to make an emergency landing in Georgiana over the weekend.

The Butler County Sheriff says an ultra light plane was having engine trouble after leaving from Brewton and was forced to land on the new Georgiana bypass road.

The sheriff says during the landing the plane went into a ditch, causing a wheel to break off of the plane and bending the wing.

State Troopers say the pilot was able to get gas for the glider and take back off.

The pilot was not injured and was the only person aboard.
