ArchiTreats: Alabama’s Got the Boll Weevil Blues
Come hear an ArchiTreats Lunchtime Lecture Series on Thursday, Dec. 19 from 12 pm to 1 pm. Between the 1890s and the early 1920s, the boll weevil slowly ate its way across the Cotton South from Texas to the Atlantic Ocean. By the early 20th century, it had invaded Alabama and was quickly decimating our state’s cotton crop. Join us this month to discover the many ways in which southerners learned—and didn’t learn—the lessons taught by a voracious little beetle. Bring your lunch and enjoy a little Alabama history. Complimentary beverages provided. Free Event!
