Sun Damage and Your Skin
Scientists at the University of Michigan found the sun can damage skin very quickly.
They shined a low level of UV rays known as UVA-1 on volunteers, similar to what we experience in daily life.
After just two exposures the rays caused a break down of collagen, which makes skin firm and smooth.
Researchers say few sunscreen ingredients protect against UVA-1 becuase most block UVB rays, which cause sunburns.
