Crowd Turns Out for Capital City Christmas Parade

Downtown Montgomery was filled with Christmas spirit Thursday night as the Capital City Christmas Parade got underway. It had been postponed from earlier in the month because of bad weather. Kids of all ages were eager to come and take part in the annual tradition.
From a giant snowman and reindeer… to dancers and marching bands… the 98 float parade made its way down Dexter Avenue.
For many it is a family tradition.
“We came to the Montgomery parade because we missed Prattville’s on Monday. Figured we would have the best seat in the houses. Having fun and enjoying it is what it’s all about,” said Kent Lyle.
The parade ended at the city Christmas tree in front of City Hall. the tree was lit a few weeks earlier, but was re-lit after the parade for everyone to see.
