Greenville Man Charged With Attempted Murder

A Greenville man charged with attempted murder makes his first court appearance Tuesday, and we were the only news crew on site as he entered the Butler County Courthouse.

Greenville police say LaDarrius Powell allegedly choked his girlfriend, forced her and their two month old baby into a vehicle, and attempted to wreck it. Police say the vehicle flipped, landing upside down, in a ditch.

The woman had minor injuries and the baby was not harmed.

Powell is charged with criminal mischief and two counts of attempted murder. He is being held at the Butler County Jail without bond.
