Montgomery Mayor Todd Strange was Live on our coverage of the “Downtown Countdown” New Year’s celebration, saying he was pleased at the turnout.
Strange says this event will continue to grow in years to come, and is already drawing in people from across Alabama.
The Downtown Countdown is a street party held on Commerce Street near the Alley and the Riverfront. This is the second year the city has hosted it, with bands, fireworks and confetti. CBS 8 and ABC Montgomery provided more than two hours of Live coverage.
