Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Breakfast Draws Hundreds

Hundreds of people gathered for the 18th annual Martin Luther King, Junior Memorial Breakfast Saturday morning.

The breakfast honors the legacy of Martin Luther King, Junior, raises money for scholarships for local students, and recognizes outstanding individuals and organizations in the area.  At the first breakfast 18 years ago, only around 100 people attended the event, but this year, more than 800 people came out, which means more money can be raised for scholarships.

The breakfast is sponsored by the local chapter of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity.
