8 Inmates Injured in Alabama Prison Brawl

Alabama Department of Corrections officials say eight inmates were injured during a fight at the Elmore Correctional Facility.

Corrections spokesman Brian Corbett says the inmates were sent to Jackson Hospital after the fight on Sunday and three were admitted for further treatment.

Details on the extent of the inmates’ injuries and the circumstances that led up to the fight weren’t immediately available.

The brawl is under investigation.
