CDC Wants Hospitals to Take Second Look at Prescriptions
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is urging hospitals to use a new checklist to improve the way antibiotics are prescribed.
A new CDC report says doctors at some hospitals prescribe three times as many antibiotics as doctors at other hospitals to treat similar symptoms.
The report also says some antibiotics are being over-prescribed, and others, under-prescribed.Â
