This Week in the Legislature
It was a busy week for lawmakers, covering topics from abortion to the education budget.
The house passed a slate of four abortion bills which could make a woman wait 48 hours before having an abortion and ban the procedure after a fetal heartbeat has been found.
Lawmakers are also in the middle of tackling both budgets.

Governor Bentley put his foot down this week, saying he wouldn’t sign a budget that didn’t include a 2% payraise for teachers, but senate leaders say they won’t be strong armed.Â
