Alcohol-Related Traffic Deaths Underreported
A new study comparing traffic deaths to death certificates finds alcohol is not frequently listed as a cause of death.Â
U.S. Researchers looked at traffic deaths over 10 years. They found only 3 percent listed alcohol as a contributing factor, but blood alcohol levels showed 21 percent of the people killed were legally drunk.
