B Cells Could Fight Multiple Sclerosis

B cells, a type of white blood cells in the immune system, may be the key to reducing Multiple Sclerosis symptoms.

A study being presented at the American Academy of Neurology’s annual meeting  found patients who took a drug that targeted B-cells had fewer new brain lesions compared to patients who were given a placebo.

On average, patients on the drug had less than one new lesion a year compared to 16 lesions without treatment.
