Cervical Cancer Rates Higher Than Reported

U.S. Cervical cancer rates are higher than previously reported, according to a new report from the University of Maryland.

Past estimates included women who had hysterectomies and were no longer at risk of developing cervical cancer.

Once those women were taken out of the analysis, researchers say rates jumped from 12 cases to 19 cases for every 100 thousand women.
